Titanium Dioxide is a natural pigment that is minded from the ground. Here it is in a powder form for producing extra whiteness in the soap base.  When it is added to a Clear Soap Base, it will become an Opaque Soap Base.

Mix with a little liquid glycerine to disperse the powder before adding to your soap base to avoid lumps of powder.

Titanium Dioxide can be mixed with either oil or water.  Before doing either, make sure you sift it and make sure you have no lumps in it.  For cold process soaps, try mixing it in a carrier oil first.  If mixing it with water, we've read reports that using distilled water gives better results than tap water.
