Basil Essential Oil (MC Type) is obtained by steam distillation of the flowering tops and leaves of Ocimum basillicum Linne, of the Labiatae family. MC stands for Methyl Chavicol.

It is often used in aromatherapy to relieve headaches and migraines as it well known for its calming effects. It would be ideal in use in a carrier oil where it is said to help relieve stress and fatigue. Just what you need for sore muscles.

Its ability to be an analgesic (pain relief) would make it ideal for aches and pains, so adding it to a Bath Oil would be very relaxing.
