Adding a tiny amount of glitter will give your soap that added sparkle at Christmas time. Using your imagination you can create some great soaps.
Dried Flowers provide a great way of decorating your Soaps and adding an extra visual touch of luxury. Who can resist a single red rose bud on a bar of soap - it looks so exclusive.
It is best to use them as a decoration after the soap has been made as adding them directly to the soap base will cause the flowers to discolour and turn brown which really doesn't look very attractive. The flowers will absorb the moisture from the soap and gradually turn a very dull colour. This will apply to both Melt and Pour Soaps and Cold Process Soaps.
Using Herbs and Fruits to decorate your soaps is an interesting way of bring a new dimension to them.
Cosmetic Clays are an ancient cosmetic ingredient that can cleanse and soften the skin. So it makes sense to add Cosmetic Clays to your soaps to make use of these benefits.
Clays such as White Kaolin Clay will make your soap feel soft and silky.
The clays and powders add colour and texture to your finished soap. Do be careful when handling the clays as they can stain your hands. Best to wear gloves!

Calendula Petals are really the only successful flower that can be used directly in a soap base and these really do look good.
All of our botanicals are fumigated with a harmless and safe fumigation process. We would recommend storing in a cool dry conditions out of direct sunlight.
None of the dried products/botanicals are suitable for food use.

Adding Cosmetic Glitter is not just for sparkling bars at Christmas time but is welcome all year round. We would really suggest that you don't add too much because it looks great in the bar, but not everyone wants to be covered in it.
Micas are slightly different in that they give a pearlescent effect and a very slight colouring to the bar. Micas work best in Clear Soap Bases as they need reflected light to give the best effect.
Note: the new legislation banning micro beads also includes non biodegradable Cosmetic Glitters - for personal care rinse off products only. The rules prohibit the sale of such products from 19th June 2018.
Packaging often makes the product so it's important to get it right.
