Dried Flowers provide a great way of decorating your Soaps and adding an extra visual touch of luxury. Who can resist a single red rose bud on a bar of soap - it looks so exclusive.
It is best to use them as a decoration after the soap has been made as adding them directly to the soap base will cause the flowers to discolour and turn brown which really doesn't look very attractive. The flowers will absorb the moisture from the soap and gradually turn a very dull colour. This will apply to both Melt and Pour Soaps and Cold Process Soaps.
Calendula Petals are really the only successful flower that can be used directly in a soap base and these really do look good.
All of our botanicals are fumigated with a harmless and safe fumigation process. We would recommend storing in a cool dry conditions out of direct sunlight.
None of the dried products/botanicals are suitable for food use.
