Witch Hazel

This can be used for helping your bath bombs to bind. As it does not contain water it is extremely useful in the final pressing process.

A natural product distilled from the bark and twigs of Hamamelis Virginiana, to which 13 to 15% by volume of ethanol (ethyl alcohol) is added. It is clear and colourless.

Witch Hazel is an astringent which means if applied directly to your skin, it makes the skin tissues shrink slightly. You will often see it as a main ingredient in eye tonics and eye lotions as it can soothe puffy eyes and help you relax. A simple example is to soak cotton wool pads with Witch Hazel and place them over your eyes. Then relax...bliss.

Finally, it's great for bruises and helps to soothe and reduce the swelling.
