Hazard Identification

Xi, irritating to skin.  May cause sensitisation.

First Aid Measures

Inhalation: Remove from exposure site to fresh air

 

Eye contact:     Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15mins. Contact a doctor is symptoms persist.   

 

Skin contact:   

Remove contaminated clothes.  Wash thoroughly with soap and water.

 

Ingestion:             

Do not induce vomiting.  Seek urgent medical attention.

Fire-Fighting Measures

Suitable extinguishers: water mist, carbon dioxide, foam or dry powder.

Unsuitable extinguishers: water jet.

Hazards: avoid inhalation of fumes.

Accidental Release Measures

Personal precautions: avoid inhalation and direct contact with eyes.  Use individual protective equipment (safety glasses, waterproof boots) in case of major spillages.

 

Prevent from entering drains, surface and ground waters.

Cleaning: remove using absorbents then clean the area with hot water and detergent.

Storage conditions:             

Store in tightly closed original container, in a cool, dry and ventilated area away from heat sources and protected from light. Keep air contact to a minimum.

Keep away from possible sources of combustion.

Respiratory protection: avoid breathing product vapour.  Apply local ventilation where possible.

 

Ventilation: ensure good ventilation of working area.


Hand protection: avoid all skin contact.  Use chemically resistant gloves if required.

The material has no formal safety testing.  The presence of a large proportion of citral could perhaps present a skin sensitisation hazard, although the presence of other materials such as limonene may act as a quencher.
