Botanic origin: The volatile oil distilled from the highly acidic juice-emulsion that results from crushing small

sour whole fruits of the West Indian Lime Citrus aurantifolia (christman) Swingle (sometimes called Mexican type or key lime)

First Aid Measures

Inhalation:

In the unlikely event, seek medical advice.

 

Eye contact:      

Wash eyes thoroughly with cold sterile water.  Seek medical advice if stinging persists after 10 minutes.

 

Skin contact:   

Wash off with soap and water.  Seek medical advice if irritation develops.

 

Ingestion:             

Do not induce vomiting.  Seek urgent medical attention.

Fire-Fighting Measures

Suitable extinguishers: water mist, carbon dioxide, foam or dry powder.

Unsuitable extinguishers: water jet.

Hazards: avoid inhalation of fumes.

Accidental Release Measures

Prevent from entering drains, surface and ground waters.

Cleaning: remove using absorbents then clean the area with hot water and detergent.

Handling and Storage

Storage conditions:             

Store in tightly closed original container, in a cool, dry and ventilated area away from heat sources and protected from light. Keep air contact to a minimum.

Keep away from possible sources of combustion.

Exposure Control/Personal Protection

Goggles and gloves should be worn if there is a risk of splashing.

Odour: characteristic mouth watering citrus.
