Hazard Identification

Eye contact: may cause irritation.

Skin contact: sensitisation is very infrequent.

Inhalation: presents no hazards.

Ingestion: presents no hazards.

First Aid Measures

Eye contact: flush eye immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Skin contact: molten wax on the skin should be cooled rapidly by cold water and removed carefully from the skin in not less than 30 minutes to avoid blistering, preferably under medical supervision to avoid tissue damage.      

Fire-Fighting Measures

Not classified as inflammable, nevertheless this product will burn.

Small fires: foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, sand or earth.

Accidental Release Measures

Clean up procedures: allow split hot wax to cool and solidify then remove the solid for disposal.

Environmental precautions: inform the authorities immediately if any wax enters drains, surface or ground waters, as it will solidify and cause blockages.

Handling and Storage

Precautions in handling:

Care should be taken when handling hot wax, because if is often used in the molten state at elevated temperatures there is a risk of thermal burns and therefore contact with the skin should be avoided and precaution taken against accidental splashes.

 

Storage conditions:             

Store in tightly closed original container, in a cool, dry and ventilated area away from heat sources and protected from light. Keep air contact to a minimum.
